Welcome to my Portfolio

Showcasing my work, experience, and skills

Welcome to my Portfolio

My name is Jake Mammen. I currently work for Early Alert, Inc, an All-Hazard Critical Event Managment company, as the Director of the Situational Awareness Unit.

What I Do

As Director, I provide strategic leadership for the Situational Awareness Unit, establishing departmental priorities, operational objectives, staffing strategies, and long-term capability development initiatives. I oversee intelligence quality, client deliverables, watch operations, operational standards, workforce development, and process improvement across the department. I also serve as a key executive liaison for internal stakeholders, external partners, and client-facing operational coordination.

My role includes providing executive-level guidance and critical-decision support during major incidents, severe weather, civil unrest, geopolitical disruptions, and other crisis operations. I focus on aligning organizational objectives, operational capabilities, continuity requirements, and intelligence-driven decision support to strengthen readiness, resilience, and operational effectiveness.

My foundation in broadcast meteorology taught me how to communicate complex information clearly and under pressure, a skill I now apply to executive briefings, stakeholder engagement, crisis communication, and operational decision support. With an MS in Geography and Environmental Sustainability, focused on Geospatial Technologies, from the University of Oklahoma, along with FEMA certifications in ICS, NIMS, GISS, and GeoCONOPS, plus ESRI training, I bring deep expertise in ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise, Python, R, spatial analysis, risk assessment, hazard intelligence, and operational efficiency.

Skills

  • Project Management
  • Geospatial Intelligence
  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Executive Support

I have a deep curiosity for understanding the spatial relationships that shape our world. This drive has led me to explore diverse domains through the lens of GIS and geospatial analysis, where I yearn to examine the complex interactions between people, environments, infrastructure, and certain events.

By continuing to learn how to integrate spatial data, statistical modeling, and visualization techniques, I want to uncover meaningful patterns and provide clear, evidence-based explanations for why phenomena occur where and how they do, whether that’s supporting emergency operations, risk assessment, or strategic decision-making.

And my hope is throughout the days, weeks, and years to come I will showcase those examples right here across this portfolio.

I look forward to connecting with those interested in learning more about myself and my work.

Thanks!
